Tradition of minstrel has been established under several rules and have a deep-rooted
history. Through that process, it has the ability to adapt itself to the changes and
transformation upon the social-economical structure.
Urbanization means the growth in the number of cities or the population in cities and in
Turkey it generally depends on migration from rural areas to urban ones. Thus, it would
be inconclusive to process that cause negative or positive effects on psychology,
economy, policy and culture.
Urbanization, with its multifaceted consequences, has also affected the tradition of
minstrel. In order o analyse those effects and results, the perspective of the minstrel to
the city and his/her comments on the foundation thereof have been discussed under the
guidance of their poems. On the other hand, he interaction between the minstreal and
the city is analysed in accordance with the interviews made with the minstrels and data
from other social sciences.
