Abstract

Viola, the member of string instruments, originated in the middle ages. The playing technique and the musical understanding has developed because of the physical changes that the instrument has faced over time. Although there is no absolute truth to be considered in the technical and musical basics while performing the Baroque period music by the modern instrument, accepted and approved boundaries by many musicians, composers and theory experts is reframed. With brief research, it has been established that there is not sufficient resource which combines all techniques in a body in our language. This study aims to be a guide that mentions and discusses all the technical details for the musicians who wants to expert in period performance of the Baroque music.
