İbrâhîm bin Bâlî'nin Hikmet-nâme'sindeki Coğrafi Unsurlar Üzerine Mitolojik, Efsanevi ve Tarihî Açıdan Bir İnceleme

Abstract

Written in mesnevi verse style in the 15th century by İbrâhîm bin Bâlî and translation of Acâ’ibü’l-mahlûkât, Hikmet-nâme is an encyclopaedical work that was affected by many sources such as, astronomy, astrology, cosmology, geography, botany, and zoology. Mythology and the kinds mythology contain are also among those sources. In this study, geographical elements such as cities, countries, towns, mountains, seas, islands, rivers, water resources, and wells mentioned in Bâlî’s work are detected. How mythological, historical, and mythical elements are reflected in the work is explained and evaluated. This study aims to show how mythology, historical, mythical elements, and narratives reflect on Hikmet-nâme in terms of geographical elements. The study consists of three chapters. In the first chapter; myth and mythology terms are mentioned, it is evaluated that how mythology is reflected on Hikmet-nâme and information given about the relationship between mythology and geography. In the second chapter, detecting the geographical elements mentioned in Hikmet-nâme, it is analysed how myths, persons, mythological animals, and plants belonging to the world and Turkish mythology are reflected on the work. In the third chapter, within the framework of geographical elements, the reflection style of myths and historical narratives to Hikmet-nâme is analysed and reached data is supported by given couplets.
