The use of digital technologies in interior architecture education shaped and renewed the design process and tools used in design. The aim of this study, which is based on interior architecture education, is to determine the extent to which the parametric design approach brought by digital technology is used in interior architecture education, and to determine whether this approach is considered as a technology or an ideology in particular. For this purpose, the study consists of five basic sections. In the first part, it was emphasized that interior architecture education is a platform that requires the use of technology (knowledge of doing) and ideology (thought of doing). This platform not only allows the student to create spaces that have their experience, knowledge, identity and functions, but also create artistic spaces that touch the individual's emotion, thoughts and soul. In this direction, the interior architecture student should understand the problem / design and create a production area with design knowledge. In short, it should define a whole about doing and thinking by using technology and ideology together. In the second part, interior architecture education, development and organization of interior architecture education in the historical process, interior architecture education curriculum and analysis, and accreditation principles in education were mentioned. In the third part, the development process of the parametric design concept, the development and formation process of parametric design in the context of the 20th and 21st centuries, the advantages and disadvantages of parametric design, the practice of doing and thinking over the parametric design concepts, and the parameters of doing and thinking, the parametric design tools-software used. and its hardware, the use of parametric design in different disciplines, and the differences between parametric design and traditional design in terms of approach to design and drawing techniques. In the fourth chapter, studied interior architecture at the level at which the parametric design approach using parametric design approaches and Turkey in the subject field of Interior Architecture / Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department were examined in the course conducted. In this direction, Başkent University, Çankaya University, TOBB University of Economics and Technology and Yaşar University's Departments of Interior Architecture / Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, which teach parametric design or take parametric design in studio courses, were evaluated in terms of parametric design course. The interviews were made online with the lecturers through the "Zoom program" over the internet. The interviews were recorded as audio and video with the approval of the participants. Semi-structured interview form was created by the researchers. The questions were prepared not to evaluate or compare the quality of education, but only to reveal the current situation for the parametric design process. The answers given were evaluated by content analysis. In this context, a limited number of which is the universities that parametric design education in Turkey, the parametric design approach is usually dealt with by integrating them into a studio course, is used mostly as a technology tool for parametric design tools and reach minimal concluded that taken from the ideological point of view. In addition, it is accepted by the lecturers that the parametric design approach is reflected in the projects with an information-oriented approach, and thinking-oriented studies are left behind. At this point, it is predicted that the design process will develop with the combination of making knowledge and possibilities provided by the thinking environment.
