Astragalus Isauricus Hub.-Mor. & Matthews Üzerinde Farmakognozik Araştırmalar
Özet
The genus Astaragalus is represented by 445 species 224 of which are endemic in Turkish flora. Astragalus species have been used to obtain “gum tragacanth” for many years. Also, numerous Astragalus species have been used for their hepatoprotective, diuretic, cardioprotective, antidiyabetic, antiinflammatory antioxidant, immunstimulant and antiviral properties. Astragalus species contain triterpenoid saponins, polysaccharides, flavonoids, organic acids and alkaloids. It has been determined that, cycloartane saponins of Astragalus exhibit; significant cytotoxicity toward many type of cancer cell lines, inhibits inflamation and platelet agregation, Nf-κB inhibition, infarcts inhibition, antihipertansive effect and many other activities. The isolation and structure elucidation of secondary metabolites especially cycloartane saponins from the roots of Astragalus isauricus which is endemic in Turkey and has not previously studied, has been aimed. As a result of chromatographic studies on Astragalus isauricus roots, an aminoacid [triptofan (DP-1)] and three cycloartane triterpenoid [astragaloside IV (DP-2), astragaloside I (DP-3) and astragaloside II (DP-4)] saponins were isolated.
