Eğitim ve Bilgi Hizmetlerinde Toplam Kalite Uygulamaları
Abstract
Total quality management is one of the key elements to improving the effective ness of education and information services. By applying total quality management it is possible to judge what the libraries are doing well; to identify where improvements are needed to raise effectiveness and to determine priorities for these developments. This article shows why total quality applications are for the benefit of the schools, universities and of the studends, staff, libraries and librarians. It also identifies some key concepts and trends; considers how the process might be managed within the context of the education and information services. Furthermore it provides an overview of the developments in Turkey; and looks at how the results can be applied to the advantage of the education and information services. The suggestions will be useful to increase the quality expectations available to individuals throughout their lives.
