From the past to the present while art as a communication tool always expresses the problems and solutions of its own era, the traces of the periods in which the conflicts were experienced intensely marked the history of art with its permanent works of art. The artists often aim to create a social perception with their creations and artworks. For this reason, the crises, wars and political conflicts in the world can articulate through artworks.
When the content, form, and violence of the 21st century war and the histories of World War II is compared, a new state of concept is formed which is difficult to comprehend. The wars of 21st century have been threatening humanity by causing new fears and concerns. The destruction caused by these wars and the difficulties and chaos experienced during the war affect the whole world. This impact also includes children, and children pay the heaviest price in wars.
In this context, in this study titled “Constructing the Concept of Peace in Artistic Applications”, believing that art can draw attention to the sorrow of war, the ceramic works that emerged in response to the anxiety over the suffering of children during the war were handled with the form of ‘balloon’, which is a children’s toy. In addition, the stance of art as a means of communication and its power of creating awareness for a situation that is intended to be explained are emphasized. The subject was discussed through the artists and artworks in this field.
