Abstract
Day after day renewable energy investments are gaining importance in our country as in the world. It is aimed to increase investments within the scope of certain legislation and incentive models due to the decrease in foreign dependence, security of supply and convenience in raw materials. Turkey is a rich country in regard to potential of wind energy. In order to use this potential, Turkey has set some policies, regulations and incentive models to increase the investment in wind energy. The purpose of this study is to analyze the mentioned policies according to years, to examine their effectiveness and to determine their effects on the investor. In this study, to examine the effectiveness of the policies in the field of wind energy in Turkey, a questionnaire has been applied to companies operating in the sector and has been benefited from the results of this survey. The aim is especially finding the answers for the questions "How effective are wind energy policies should be in order to make companies would like to invest and contribute more to the sector?" and "What should be the ideal wind energy policies?" These questionnaire was sent to 100 different companies, which are pioneering and active in the sector, and 78 companies completed the questionnaire. Survey results were analyzed in SPSS (Statistical Package fort he Social Sciences) program and the research model was tested using Logistic Regression method. When the results of the analysis of the answers given to the survey questions were examined, it was seen that the firms generally adopted the YEKA (Renewable Energy Resource Area) incentive model instead of YEKDEM (Renewable Energy Resources Support Mechanism) incentive model if special conditions were met. Until now there have not been any study that investigates the effect of Turkey's wind energy policies to the companies which potentially will invest in this sector. The need has been met with this study, it is planned that the results of this study will benefit policy makers and reflect the current situation of the sector.
