The present work deals with the image of women in Turkey. On the basis of the investigations carried out, an attempt is made to highlight the role of women in the traditional Turkish society and to provide an overview of gender-specific roles in Turkey. For this purpose, both domestic violence against women and its appearances and the impacts on its victims and also the social pressure on women are determined. In a further step the disadvantages of women on social, political and economic level are visualized and the cultural backgrounds for its discrimination on the labor market are being researched. Part of the information for the investigation was acquired in a social analysis by means of selected literary works by Saliha Scheinhardt, another part on the basis of independently recorded audio recordings at the workshop at Hacettepe University and at the reading in the Goethe Institute, with the author's consent. For the study, the novels "Schmerzensklänge", "Wahnliebe" and "Frauen, die sterben, ohne dass sie gelebt hätten" by the just mentioned writer were used and the sound recordings were transcribed. On the basis of the investigations could be represented the problem situation of Turkish women in traditional societies clearly.
