Abstract
Karabaş Y., Influence of Accelerated Artificial Aging on Color Stability and Translucency of Different High Translucent Monolithic Zirconia Ceramic Materials, Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry Deparment of Prosthodontics, Specialization Thesis, Ankara, 2019. The aim of this in-vitro study was to investigate the effect of cementation and aging on the translucency and color stability of monolithic zirconia ceramics and lithium disilicate glass ceramics. In order to do this research, three different monolithic zirconia with 0.5 mm and 1.00 mm thickness and lithium disilicate glass ceramic samples were prepared with 160 x 14 mm A1 color. The samples were divided into two groups. Dual-cure resin cement was applied to half of the samples (n = 80). Then, accelerated artificial aging was applied to all sample groups. Color stability and translucency values were measured by spectrophotometer and color parameters (L, a, b, ΔE, TP) using CIE Lab (Comission Internationale de L’Eclairage) color system before accelerated artificial aging process, after cement application and aging process. The results were analysed using 3-way ANOVA and Duncan tests. Translucency values were significantly higher in glass ceramics than monolithic zirconia ceramics. Cement application significantly affected color stability and translucency. In IPS e.max, translucency and color change were higher than monolithic zirconia ceramics. After aging, the color change in the cementless samples was highest in the IPS e.max group. The color change values of monolithic zirconia ceramics were similar.
