Şahan, N. Investigation of Motor Skill, Visual Perception and Quality of Life of Childhood Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Among Different Comorbidity Groups, Hacettepe University, Graduate School of Health Sciences, Physical Therapy and Rehabilition Program Doctorate Thesis, Ankara, 2019. In this study, between 6-10 year-old male with right-handed dominant, 18 diagnosed with ADHD, 17 with ADHD and specific learning disability (SLD), 16 with ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), 15 with ADHD and anxiety disorders and 15 typically developing peers (TDP), totally 81 children were included. In our study, we tested hand preferences with Edinburgh Handedness, motor skill with Bruininksy-Oseretsky Motor Efficiency Test 2nd Version (BOT-2), hand functions with 9-Hole Peg Test, visual perception skills with Motor Free Visual Perception Test-3 (MPVT-3) and Quality of life with Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory. Parents Form of Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (Parent PEDs QL) and the Conners Parent Rating Scale- Revised Short (CPRS-RS) were given to parents to fill. As a result of our study, children in ADHD and comorbidity groups had low levels of motor skills (x2= 36,693) (p=0,001), manual dexterity(x2= 10,456) ( p= 0,033), visual perception ( x2= 10,240) (p= 0,037)and quality of life (F= 3,432) (p= 0,012) compared to TDP. In the Parent PEDs QL of ADHD and comorbidities were lower than parents of TDP (x2= 22,113) (p= 0,001). In the CPRS-RS, scores of parents in ADHD and comorbidity group were higher than their parents of TDP (x2=23,934) (p= 0,001). As a result of our study, it was seen that ADHD and SLD comorbidities were lower in motor skills such as balance, upper extremity coordination and gross motor skills compared to other ADHD and comorbidity groups and these results are thought to be guiding physiotherapists working in this field.
