Türkçe Konuşan Okul Çağı Çocuklarında Ses Çıkış Zamanlarının Değerlendirilmesi
Özet
Speech is sound production process which materialize with compatible working of a lot of anatomic structure. Speech sounds are produced by coordinated working of respiration, phonation, articulation and resonance systems. Speech sounds are examined with acoustical analysis. Voice onset time is a reliable acoustic parameter used in differentiation of plosives. This study is planned to investigate voice onset time in school aged Turkish speaking children and obtain normative data. Assigning 30 children in each group, a total of 120 children, whose mother language are Turkish, in 4 age-groups, 7.0-7.11 years (Group I), 8.0-8.11 years (Group II), 9.0-9.11 years (Group III), and 10.0-10.11 years (Group IV) participated in the study. With combination of 6 plosives /p/, /b/, /t/, /d/, /k/, /g/ and 8 vowels /a/, /e/, /ɯ/, /i/, /o/, /œ/, /u/, /y/ of Turkish formed speech samples were repeated 3 times. Recorded samples with Praat software (http:www.fon.hum.uva.nl/praat/, version 5.1.31, Paul Boesma and David Weenik, Phonetic Sciences Department, University of Amsterdam) were analysed. Voice onset time was determined with measuring the time between burst and beginning of the vocal fold vibration.. In all four groups voice onset time values of voiceless plosives were founded positive, voice onset time values of voiced plosives were found negative (p>0.05). It was found out that voice onset time values of school aged Turkish speaking children were affected from place of articulation, gender and vowel height but not affacted from age. It was thought that normative data obtained from study could be used in other studies of different speech disorders.
