Abstract
Yosmaoğlu S. Construct Validity and reliability of the Lower Extremity Prosthetic Limb users Survey of Mobility Hacettepe University Institute of Health Sciences, Prosthetics- Orthotics and Biomechanics Program, Master Thesis Ankara,2019 The aim of this study was to investigate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Prosthetic Limb Users Survey of Mobility (PLUS-M). After obtaining the permission to perform a version study from the developer, the translation of the scale from its original language to Turkish was carried out in accordance with the rules of intercultural adaptation and translation methods. Turkish version of the scale was applied on 100 amputated individuals twice in 3 day intervals. Correlation between the outcomes was determined by calculating the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and Spearman's correlation coefficient. The internal consistency of the PLUS-M Turkish version was calculated by Cronbach alpha. Amputee Mobility Predictor (AMPRO), which is a valid and reliable scale, was applied to amputees. Correlation between Turkish version of PLUS-M and AMPRO was determined by Spearman correlation analysis. A positive, high correlation was found between the first application and its repetition of Turkish version of PLUS-M (ICC = 0.85, r = 0.94, p <0.001; short form: ICC= 0,92, r=0,93, p<0.001 ). The internal consistency was high (Cronbach alpha = 0.94, Cronbach alfa=0,91) and a positive, high correlation was found with the scores obtained from the AMPRO scale (r = 0.84, p <0.001; short form: r= 0,77, p<0,001). It was concluded that the Turkish version of the Plus-M mobility questionnaire is a valid and reliable scale for the use of both prosthetic and scientific researches for the assessment of mobility of individuals who have undergone lower extremity amputation using a prosthesis. Key Words: Amputation, outcome assessment, quality of life
