Sinema Mekanlarında Atmosfer Kavramının Sinematografi Teknikleriyle Hareket-Mekan-Ses Analizi: Düşüş ve Büyük Budapeşte Oteli Filmleri
Özet
In this thesis, the atmospheres of cinema films were examined in terms of spatial formation. The intertwined and relational structure of space and spatial elements is discussed with the movement feature provided by cinema. In addition to consisting of moving images, cinema also offers the opportunity to experience multi-sensory mobility by using the element of sound (soundtrack). As a result of the principle of the senses working together, the movie scene watched turns into a place experienced or felt. The element felt in the place is the spirit of the place, in other words, the atmosphere of the place. In cinema, the atmosphere of the place is another composition consciously designed by the director, just like the scenario and image. In this study, based on the relational structure of the senses, the intricate and synchronized working situations of the spatial elements in the construction of the atmospheres of the films are discussed.
In the introduction part of the study, the subject, importance, purpose and method of the study are included. In the first part, the abstract dimension of the concept of space, as well as its concrete dimension, is discussed. Since the abstract dimension of space is its immeasurable but felt side, subjective-objective perception, perception process, working principles of the senses and their collaboration are also touched upon.In the second part, technical cinematography information about the space, spatial pattern, movement and sound elements, synchronization and atmosphere concepts on stage are discussed. The space in this section is the space that is viewed and experienced with the fixed body of the viewer and the mobile and wider perspective offered by the camera. In the third chapter, the atmospheric space formations of the films The Fall and The Grand Budapest Hotel selected for the study were examined in terms of cinematography techniques. Then, the results and findings are presented.
