Abstract

In this study, the change and transformation between the people living in the city of Ankara in the years 2006-2016 after the folk medicine was laid in the background were explained by internal and external dynamics. During this change and transformation, the perspectives of the people living in the city of the folk medicine have been observed by conducting studies on the ways of using them. The political, economic and cultural elements that led to the rediscovery of the city in the tradition were handled through the interviews. At this point, the reasons for pushing people to use modern medicine and consequently the treatment of the folk medicine with desperation and the traditional medicine which is a natural action in the villages, reproduction and rediscovery of the city sample of Ankara are explained in this study. In addition, the transfer of the traditional medicine and transformation into a cultural-economic area, and the influence of the media on modern medicine and folk medicine are also mentioned.
