In this study, an above-knee prosthesis test platform has initially been presented for designing and testing knee prosthesis. The main reason to design this mechanism is to generate the periodic move of above knee activity by using basic control unit and electro mechanic hardware. This platform will help us to assess the design outcomes of the prosthesis for specifically above knee amputees. Above-knee prosthesis test platform performance tests were conducted with both an image based motion measurement system and a direct type motion measurement system. Analysis results were evaluated for assessing to what extent the natural periodic movement of the hip was approximated with designed electromechanical simulator. Various enhancement studies were applied to these motion measurement systems. Plain based camera calibration techniques were implemented to image based motion measurement system so as to obtaining analyses results reliably.
