Abstract
German composer Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy is considered one of the most valuable composers of the 19th century. Composed by Mendelssohn and having a very important place in the violin repertoire, the violin concerto in E minor op.64 has a passionate and flamboyant structure as well as being naive and transparent. Therefore, it can become a concerto that will force the performers from time to time, technically and musically. Over the years, various technical exercise methods have been added to the violin repertoire by famous violin educators. One of these famous educators is Otakar Sevcik, who lived in the 20th century. Sevcik has devoted himself to violin education throughout his life and has brought many books to the violin repertoire in terms of education. One of them is the op for Mendelssohn violin concerto in E minor. It is a method of 21 analytical exercises. In this study, it is aimed to analyze Sevcik's exercises and the passages of the concerto and to examine the contributions that Sevcik can bring to the performer for "Mendelssohn op.64 E minor violin concerto" in the light of Sevcik's exercises. In this process, it was tried to focus on Sevcik's logical and pedagogical approach to violin study. In the light of the findings obtained as a result of the examination; It is a study guide for this concerto, which has an important place in the violin repertoire, and it is aimed to give the performer a new perspective with the help of Sevcik's exercises.
