This study aims to determine the relation of high school students' 21st century skills with their burnout and school engagement levels in the Çankaya district of Ankara. In this context, the study attemps to determine whether there were significant differences in 21st century skills, burnout and enagagement levels and certain socio-demgraphic variables such as gender, age, grade, school type, parents' education level and socio-economic status of family. It also attemps to assess the relationship between 21st skills and student burnout and engagement and whether 21st century skills can serve as a predictor of student burnout and student engagement. The research was a descriptive study in which a relational survey model was used. The target population consisted of 36288 students at 54 state high schools in the Çankaya district of Ankara in the 2015-2016 academic year. The sample size was calculated as 380 at .95 confidence level and .05 confidence interval in simple random sampling. The study was conducted on 2017 students at 19 schools. As research tools, 21st Century Skills Scale developed by researcher, Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Form and Ultrecth School Engagement Scale adapted by Kutsal (2009) were used in the survey. To analyze the data, The SPSS 20.0 was used. In the analysis, descriptive statistics such as arithmetic avareges and standard deviation, T test, ANOVA and Pearson Correlation and Regression tests were employed. Results indicated that students have high levels of 21st century skills. According to the results, female students have higher levels of 21st century skills than male students, there is no significant difference between age and grade and 21st century skills, mother's /father's educational level was positively related to 21st century skills. According to the findings, high school students are experiencing moderate levels of burnout and there are significant differences in demographic variables. In the research it was observed that burnout level of female students is higher than male students and 12th grade students scored higher than other groups. It was also found that there is a positive relationship between engagement and mothers' / father's educational level. Results also revealed that high school students have moderate level of engagement, female students have higher engagement levels than male students, at higher grades students have lower levels of engagement and the older the students gets, the lower level of engagement they have. It was also found that mother's and father's educational level and income were related negatively to student's engagement. The results of correlation and regression analysis in this study have shown that there is a moderate negative relationship between 21st century skills and student burnout, a moderate positive relationship between 21st century skills and school engagement, and significant negative relationship between school engagement and student burnout. Furthermore, 21st century skills were found to be the predictor of student burnout and engagement.
