Abstract
People have protected their bodies for various reasons since the day they existed. While investigating the reasons for this situation, it was found that the act of self-protection of human physiology is in parallel with the concept of need. On the other hands during the research process, findings regarding the relationship between the concept of need and objects throughout history were obtained. Scientific and artistic research has been carried out on the objects of need throughout history, and it has been witnessed that the objects that have emerged with the need for protection have been transformed over time, taking into account these researches. The research process, which started with the arguments of this transformation; It started by considering the fact that the needs of shelter, clothing and nutrition are basically the same priority in human physiology and that these basics have undergone this transformation. Thus it has been concluded that the concept of need itself has undergone a transformation, as well as physiological needs, depending on historical developments. The reasons for dynamic phenomena such as cultural and social developments, hierarchical classifications, and era inventions that constitute the transformation in question have been reached. Moreover starting from the recent past with a certain chronological evaluation, it has been concluded that today's need objects and the concept of need are a formation together with the consumption phenomenon. As a result of these findings, it was concluded that the objects that emerged with the need for protection became artificial by turning into an unprotected phenomenon with the data created by consumption over time. Thus, the research has been examined with both art history and anthropological evaluations and has been the subject of applications from the perspective of art.
