Kronik Bel Ağrılı Bireylerde Temel Beden Farkındalığı Terapisinin Postür, Ağrı, Yeti Yitimi, Yaşam Kalitesi, Uyku Kalitesi ve Beden Farkındalığı Üzerine Etkisi

This study was planned to examine the effects of conventional treatment and Basic Body Awareness Therapy (BBAT) applied in addition to conventional treatment on posture, pain, disability, quality of life, sleep quality and body awareness in individuals with chronic low back pain. Twenty eight individuals between the ages of 18-65 with chronic low back pain were included in the study. Individuals are randomly divided into two different groups, “control group” (n=14), where a total of 18 sessions are performed 3 days a week for 6 weeks, and “treatment group” (n=14), where the Basic Body Awareness Therapy is applied at the end of each session following conventional treatment. Individuals were evaluated for posture, pain level, disability, quality of life, sleep quality and body awareness parameters 2 times just before being treated and after 6 weeks of treatment programs. According to the results of the study, improvements in posture, pain intensity, disability, physical quality of life and awareness of lumbocervical, perineum, thigh and knee regions were observed after treatment in both groups, especially in the treatment group (p<0.05). Only in the treatment group, improvements were seen in sensory and perceptual pain, subjective sleep quality and sleep latency, total sleep scores, mental quality of life, body image perception, emotional status, and general body awareness in addition to many regional body awareness (p<0,05). These findings showed that BBAT, which is applied to individuals with chronic low back pain along with conventional treatment methods, can be used as a supportive treatment method. As a result, it was thought that individuals with chronic low back pain also benefited from the additional BBAT program and BBAT could support the mental aspect of existing approaches. However, it was concluded that post-treatment follow-up studies are needed to determine the long-term effects of these benefits.
