Abstract
In this study called " Northwestern Bursa Tales", 61 fairy tale texts compiled from the source people living in Bursa city and its villages were examined. In this study, the structure, type and motif features of the tales were analyzed. The tales were compiled with the video recording system, by carefully selecting the source people and interviewing them in person. Tales were determined by separating the folk narratives that had the characteristics of fairy tales from the folk narratives compiled in the Bursa area. For this purpose, the study is divided into three parts and in the Introduction; The research purpose and importance of Bursa fairy tale tradition is mentioned. In the first chapter, the concept of fairy tales, the characteristics of the tales and the elements in the tales are explained with examples. In the second part, the socio-cultural characteristics of Bursa, which is our research area; It has been put forward based on its historical, demographic and economic structure, and then the thesis studies on Bursa have been included. In the third chapter, the formal elements of Bursa tales, the elements of folk culture and the structural analysis of the digressions are given. Then, the type classification of the compiled fairy tale texts was made and the motif elements were determined. In the conclusion part, the narrator-audience context of Bursa province was evaluated by comparing it functionally according to socio-cultural characteristics. Finally, in the appendices, the tale texts are listed according to their dialect characteristics. At the end of this sequence, a dictionary consisting of words specific to the region and dialect features in the tale texts has been prepared.
