COVID-19 pandemic has changed people's daily lives. This is hypothesized to have the potential to precipitate a pandemic of physical inactivity. The aim of the study was to compare balance, exercise capacity, sleep quality and corona virus phobia level with teleassessment in individuals with different physical activity levels during the pandemic period and to investigate the relationship between exercise
capacity and balance. Before the tele-assessment, cognitive fitness of the individuals was evaluated with the Standardized Mini-Mental Test (SMMT). Individuals' physical activity levels were determined with International Physical Activity Scale (IPAQ) Short Form. According to the IPAQ results, the cases were divided into two groups as inactive (n=32) and active (minimally or sufficiently active) (n=32). Sleep quality was evaluated with Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), health literacy level with Turkey Health Literacy Scale 32 (TSOY-32) and coronavirus phobias with Corona Virus 19 Phobia Scale (C19P-S). One-minute sit-to-stand test for exercise capacity (1STST); Berg Balance Scale (BBS) was used for balance. The C19P-S scores of the active group were significantly lower (p<0.05). There was no significant difference
between the two groups in terms of TSOY-32, PSQI, and BBS (p>0.05). The 1STST repetition number of the active group was higher (p<0.05). In the active group, the change in heart rate at 1STST was higher, the change in heart rate in the first minute of recovery, dyspnea, general fatigue and quadriceps fatigue perceptions were significantly lower (p<0.05). There was a significant correlation between 1STST and
BSS scores (r=0.369, p<0.05). Health literacy, sleep quality and balance levels of physically active and inactive individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic period are similar. Exercise capacity is better who are physically active. In physically inactive individuals, fear of corona virus increases and exercise capacity decreases. During pandemic period, physical activity level and exercise capacity of healthy people can
be determined safely and appropriately with tele-assessment methods.
