Abstract

The study, which is handled as a Work of Art Report, covers the transformation of the ideal of the individual in the historical process; It is a research based on the effects of communication tools, consumption culture and urban phenomena on daily life. In this context, the conditions, situations and events we are in associated with social and individual problems through art. The study, which focuses on contemporary art, is shaped around the questions of why the ideal of the individual, designed in the enlightenment period, cannot find a response today. The reason why these questions come to the fore in the personal art approach is to draw attention to the situations encountered in daily life and to interpret the variability of today's individual. The aim of the study is to create an awareness by analyzing the state of individual ideology today through research. While the emergence of the individual ideal and the subsequent process are examined in the report created, the criticism of the individual ideal is made through selected artist works and personal practices. In the conducted report, social and individual concerns with art were discussed and it was aimed to interpret it with personal practices.
