Abstract
Books are regarded as an important element affecting the development of the child. İllustrated childrens books as game objects. She prepares her for life while enabling her to dream and think with books. The first artistic education of the child begins with illustrated children's books. While developing the comprehension skills and vocabulary of illustrated children's books, the visual reading process has also begun. Pictures in children's picture books are an essential element for reading development. From past to present, children's books have been prepared with different materials in the world and in our country. When the techniques used in illustrating children's books are examined, it is seen that different approaches have been applied in the historical process. Watercolor, pencil, plasticine, paper, pastel, etc. In addition to traditional techniques, examples made in a computer environment are also included. Creating a children's book with edible materials such as candy chocolate, which is a different three-dimensional approach apart from traditional illustration techniques, can attract the child's attention to the book. In the light of the aforementioned theoretical research, a children's picture book is created in which the color, typography and scene photographs are arranged in harmony with three-dimensional approaches in children's book illustration, using sugar paste, chocolate and sugar, using a three-dimensional technique. In the first part of the definition of children's picture books in the world and in Turkey it is examined development over time. Based on the importance of books in education for children; The cognitive and psychological effects of preschool books on children are mentioned. The effects of illustrated children's books on children as entertainment and educational tools will be examined. Types of these books are also included in the study. iv In the second chapter, the picture books for children are examined in terms of form and content. The qualitative features of children's books and the features that should be included in the book are emphasized. In the third part of the study, two and three dimensional approaches used in illustrated children's books were examined. In addition to traditional methods, examples of illustrations prepared from chocolate and sugar, a new technique, are presented. In the fourth part of the study, samples made up of children's songs and vocal phrases were examined. The combination of sound elements and complementing with visual expression, the combination of auditory and visual communication has opened the door to a powerful and never-applied field. The importance of the illustrated children's book, which combines painting and music and both branches of art, is explained. Picture books for children appealing to more than one senses are examined and evaluated in terms of their qualities in terms of compliance with cognitive and auditory levels. In the fifth and last chapter, a children's song book with a different illustration and auditory aspect, using sugar paste, sugar and chocolate, in which the image, color and typography are arranged harmoniously in a three-dimensional approach, is presented. In this section, the formation stages of the book are explained and the importance of using extraordinary techniques unlike the traditional picture children's book is emphasized.
