Culture is the treasure of a nation. It is a crucial factor that how much society is loyal to that treasure, and how much of that treasure is transferred to future generations. In this respect, compiling oral cultural works prevent the disappearance of cultural values. In the thesis’s introduction part, the subject of the study, its purpose, limitations, methods and techniques used in the study have been mentioned. In the first chapter, the transition period researches in Turkey and Kazakhstan have been mentioned. In the second chapter, references to birth traditions and rituals are given. Rituals happening before, during and after the birth have been compared. In the third chapter, marriage traditions rituals are examined comparatively. In the fourth chapter ‒ the last chapter of the thesis ‒ the death tradition rituals, which are the last phase of the transition periods, are evaluated comparatively through examples. An overall assessment is given in the conclusion part of the thesis. In this evaluation, similarities and differences in the implementation of transitional rituals in Turkey and Kazakhstan have been studied, and related examples are presented. Considering the relations of the changes in the context of socio-cultural, geographical, political and technological developments, these changes have been evaluated. The situation reached in the conclusion part is that there are similarities and a shared cultural world of thought rather than difference. The information gained from written and oral sources was evaluated in the context of the traces of the old Turkish belief systems and the changes they have undergone until today by associating them with the existing examples. The transition period examples of the peoples of the Turkic world have been used in terms of revealing the similarities and differences of these cultural value judgments in the Turkic world and in addition to their contribution to the common cultural unity.
