Kapı Metaforu

Abstract

In the report titled “Door Metaphor”, the process of the chosen object (door) as a metaphor in the subject's life was examined and the transformability of the door into an art object was emphasized. For this purpose, in the first part, under the title of objects, the reflections of people's contacts with ordinary objects in life were examined, and the transformation of ordinary objects into aesthetic objects as a result of these reflections was supported by examples from the history of art.

Under the subtitle of Redescription of the Object / Nylon, the reexperiencing of an object that the subject uses in his daily life through other objects has been researched. With the discovery of new data within the scope of research, nylon, which is frequently used in daily life, has been removed from its usage areas in life and new abstract forms have been produced.

In the second part, the effects of a door connected to architecture on the subject as a door and its discourses on its contact with architecture are emphasized. It has been determined that the productions gain objectivity within the scope of the door metaphor, as the subject internalizes the room as the place in contact. In addition, the report was supported with examples of artists who produce spatial works within the scope of the relationship of the door with the space.
