Abstract

Today, the questioning of human relations with nature has caused the beginning of the posthuman process in the last two centuries. The unilateral, consumption and domination of human’s notions to approach to nature and hence to animals has brought anthropocentrism to agenda more and more with ecological problems. In this process, where the anthropocentric world is questioned, many naturecentrist and interspecific approaches have emerged. Like many disciplines, folklore has found its place in the transition to this posthuman system. In addition to the study of traditional ecological knowledge and the ecological awareness of the people applied for solutions to ecological problems, the posthuman animal folklore has also emerged in the folklore discipline with an inter-species approach. Even though human sits at the top of the artificial world created by his own logical reasons by isolating from nature in his thousands of years of intellectual adventure, the cultural reflex and cultural expressions of the folk philosophy have had stimulating, educational and constructive functions in human interaction with nature. It is possible to see the expressive expressions of the people's efforts to exist and live as well as the existence and survival in all kinds of folklore materials. The ecological and interspecific worldview and cultural codes reflecting this folk philosophy are included in epics in all aspects. Such epics, which we can consider as ecological epics, have the potential to contribute to the posthuman worldview and ecological system by providing consolidation of interspecific and ecological consciousness today, as they are the constitutions of the people in the past. In this study, the ecological epics of the Turkish world, which are the cultural expressions of the Turkish folk philosophy, will be analyzed folkloristical in line with the intellectual trends that have emerged from the prehistoric times to the present day with the communication and interaction processes that human beings have with nature and the animal. At the same time, it is aimed to introduce the notions of “posthuman animal folklore” and “ecological epic” to Turkish folklore studies and to take place in Turkish folklore studies. In this way, the study reexamination the cultural expressions of the Turkish folk philosophy, shaped by thousands of years of experience, in the context of contemporary approaches, concepts and theories, and offers both a different perspective and a solution to existing human-centered problems.
