In this thesis, pictorial tapestries as a cultural object and their conversion into art objects are discussed. The main subject was to analyze the personalization of the picturial tapestries as culture objects by studying the relationship of cultural objects with art and how artists deal with cultural objects. Cultural objects whose forms of use are constantly changing to keep up with the age have been interpreted in different ways in the historical process. In this interpretation, picture tapestries tried to find a place physically and emotionally in the culture.
Picturial tapestries were intervened in various ways, and bleach, oil painting, acrylic paint, ink, cement, filling and bonding materials were used until a specific technique was found. While some tapestries were shaved and searched for suitable materials were made.
The traditional visuals on illustrated tapestries have been reconsidered in a showdown with now.
