Özet
Turkish cinema has not left behind more than a hundred years. The film directors bring their own viewpoint to the big screen by visualizing the scenario they have in their own mind. Making the historian a kind of work. He/she passes the events going through his own mental filter, reconstructs them into writing. The cinema journalism started in the late Ottoman period and continued during the Republican period. Through cinema magazines, cinema began to develop in the Ottoman Empire and attracted public attention.
Our thesis is based on the approach in journalism history of cinema in Turkey and Turkish cinema. In our study, starting with the film Alemdar Mustafa Paşa, the first historical film essay in 1918, the films with historical content, which were shot up to 1950, were analysed according to their coverage in the periodicals of the period.
In the introductory part, the history of cinema is briefly mentioned by emphasizing the concept of cinema. In this section, the relationship between cinema and history is given.
Development of cinema in Turkey was discussed in the first chapter.
In the second part, the development of press life in general and the course of cinema in its periodicals, especially in cinema magazines, are discussed in a narrative of history.
The main topic of our thesis is discussed in the third chapter. This section experienced in Turkey in the context of political developments and cultural changes related to cinema of periodicals, especially in light of the film magazine content is reviewed films in Turkish cinema history.
