Özet
The purpose of this study is to identify learning approaches (deep, surface, or strategic) among Science High School students and undergraduate students who are ranked in the top one percent portion according to the results of University Entrance Exam in subject areas of Literacy-Social (LS), Literacy-Math (LM), and Math-Science (MS), factors that affect and shape students learning approaches, and their suggestions on effective learning styles.This study is a descriptive study. The study population of the study consists of freshman students ranked in the top one percent portion in the 2013 University Entrance Exam (UEE) and Science High School (SHS) students who are in the 12 th grade in Ankara. The study sample consists of 725 freshman students who are in the top one percent portion in the University Entrance Exam and 90 12th grade Science High School students in Ankara.
