| dc.description.abstract | "Open Access" (OA) is defined as a new model providing free access to scientific publications for libraries
and researchers. Institutional repositories (IRs) are a new facility for recording, archiving and managing
publications of persons who work for institutions. The development of IRs has given rise to the acceleration of studies
on open archives. In this paper, we investigated the relationship between web impact factors and the information
diffusion power of IRs in Turkey. Using webometric techniques, we found the number of rich files in IRs, the number
of links to them from other web sites and the overall use of IRs in Turkey. The visibility of Turkish IRs (i.e., number
of links to files in them) is rather low. Yet they are used quite heavily. | |

| dc.description.ozet | "Açık erişim" gerek kütüphanelerin gerekse araştırmacıların bilimsel yayınlara serbest erişmesini sağlayan nispeten yeni bir modeldir. Kurumsal arşivler ise bir kurumda görev yapan kişilerin yayınlarının arşivlenmesinden
ve yönetiminden sorumludur. Kurumsal arşivlerin gelişimi açık arşiv çalışmalarının hızlanmasına neden olmuştur.
Bu araştırmada Türkiye’deki kurumsal arşivlerin web etki faktörleri ile Web’de bilgi yayma güçleri arasındaki ilişki
incelenmektedir. Kurumsal arşivlerin web sitelerine bağlantı sayısı, bu arşivlerin web sitelerindeki zengin dosya sayısı ve arşivlerin kullanım oranı (site trafiği) webometrik teknikler kullanılarak ölçülmüştür. Türkiye’deki kurumsal arşivler görünürlük (web sitelerine yapılan dış bağlantı sayısı) açısından alt sıralarda yer almaktadır. Türkiye’de kurumsal arşivlerin web sitelerine bağlantı sayısı düşük olmasına rağmen bu arşivlerin kullanımı oranı yüksektir. | |
