The Influence Of Perceived Organizational Spirituality On The Psychological Contract

Organizational spirituality is regarded as a frame which provides and enables the joys and sense of belonging shared by workmen, which includes organizational values and which proves the organizational culture. (Giacalone and Jurkiewicz, 2003). The workmen who have organizational spirituality are more committed to their psychological contracts (Rousseau, 1990) that are defined as their believes and perceptions related to the mutual expectations and obligations with the organization. In this research, the relationship between perceived organizational spirituality and psychological contract is examined. Looking at the results of the t test performed, it is seen that the variables; age, education; and the condition of staff have a significant difference on organizational spirituality. It is detected that the variables; gender, position title, marital status, length of service in the sector and the condition of staff have a significant difference on the psychological contract. Examining the relation between transactional contract and organizational spirituality dimensions; there is a positive and intermediate relationship between transactional contract and meaningful work, sense of community; and alignment with organizational values. Examining the relationship between relational contract and organizational spirituality dimensions of the psychological contract with the correlation analysis performed, there is a positive relationship on a medium level between relational contract and all the other dimensions of organizational spirituality. As a result of the multiple regression analysis performed, organizational spirituality values have a significant influence with transactional contract and relational contract. The positive influence of the perceived organizational spirituality on the psychological contract is found to be statistically significant. While the current business environment provides individuals with conveniences on one hand, it also pushes them into a more stressful life. In business life which is an open system, this kind of stress can be more destructive for working people. This case brings about several physical and psychological problems for them. The burnout syndrome which we come across within this process is accepted as a notion which is defined to understand the people who have negative business experiences and it is regarded as emotional burnout in business environment, desensitization of working people and a kind of stress which includes low level of personal success towards the managers and those who concern. It has been an issue on which several studies are carried out that how the effect of organizational support toward burnout feeling will be; it is seen that some arguments are put forward in terms of meeting socio-emotional needs of the working people, rewarding their increasing efforts and taking their happiness into consideration. The objective of this study is to contribute to the mentioned argument process, to define the organization support on working people in hotel enterprises and to examine the effect of this support on the burnout feeling. Accordingly, this study takes it as a goal to reveal the effect of organizational support on the working people in hotel enterprises by applying the questionnaire form which has been prepared for the employees of four and five star hotels which operate in Istanbul. Basing on the findings especially the data about eliminating the burnout feeling - which are obtained as a result of this research, it is tried to propose suggestions about what to do related to organizational support in hotel enterprises. The research is seen important since it underlines that organizational support which is applied by managers towards hotel employees would diminish the burnout feeling. In recent years, the issue of job satisfaction and organizational commitment is ever becoming more important in working life. Considering as being responsible from the consequences of the work, but unable to participate in its processes is seen as one of the major obstacles before job satisfaction. With the industrialization period, rules regarding the job and the working place started to replace the traditional ties and the individual's taking a place in the society to the extent of its abilities led the individual's abilities become individualize and enter into the process of alienation far from its surrounding. This process led the individual to fall into a life far from not only the social values but also the society itself and then to present the result of autonomy and isolation of the individual. Job satisfaction is considered as a pleasurable or positive emotional state resulting from the evaluation of individual's jobs and work experience. Developments with regard to the commitment bring the commitment based on the job satisfaction forward when the conditions beyond the traditional practices have been met. This situation that becomes prominent nowadays depends also on the sense of satisfaction from the job done among the will of commitment of the talented employees to a specific working place. These attitudes that measure the organizational commitment and ensure the employees to remain constantly at work are considered as the concepts that are emphasized in recent years. Within the scope of the research, scales of organizational commitment and job satisfaction were applied, the acquired data were analyzed statistically. It was found out in the analysis that was carried out by using the non-parametric tests, organizational commitment and job satisfaction perceptions of the ones participating in the research and their gender, marital status, age and working hours which are their personal characteristics have showed a significant difference. Regression analysis was carried out in order to measure to which extent the job satisfaction is effective on the formation of the organizational commitment. With a view to contribute to the process of this discussion, the relationships between the job satisfaction of the talented employees and their organizational commitments were examined. Results taken at the end of the study were interpreted by basing upon these data.

The necessity with regard to carrying out all organizational activities within the framework of the code of ethics brings the ethical leadership fact into question. When the influence of the organizational leader upon the company image, identity and prestige is taken into account, it becomes crucial to develop competitive strategies within the framework of the codes of ethics. However here the questions like "to adapt strategic leadership which should relatively have the upper hand on the competitors by determining competition strategy with the ethical leadership principles?, Is there a dilemma?, Or they are the processes that complement each other? become crucial. In other words, could the ethical leadership and the strategic leadership be considered together? Could the ethical leaders be the strategic leader having a high competition responsibility as well. Whether ethical leadership and a strategic leadership having a high competition responsibility under an intense competition environment with the ethical dimension of the leadership could be considered all together, their differentiation and integration points constitute the primary objective of this research. In this research while ethical dimension of strategy development and ethical organizational climate, ethical business transaction and the issue of constituting working order are considered in the context of the ethical leadership, on the hand, it is intended to determined the difference between the strategic leadership perceptions that act from the organization's concern of profitability and being long-termed and position identification in all cases with regard to its competitors. According to the results of the analysis carried out, it is understood that there is a difference between the ethical leadership perceptions of the sample and the averages of the strategic leadership perception. It is also determined by the results of the correlation analysis carried out that there is a negative relation between the ethical leadership perceptions and the strategic leadership perceptions.
