Libraries subscribe to tools that allow all their print and electronic collections to be browsed through a single search engine. These tools, called discovery tools, or discovery services, and mostly preferred by university libraries, continue to show diversity and development. Issues such as the scope of discovery tools, the relevance of the results they bring to search queries, and the diversity of topics they provide, are among the important indicators which determine the performance of these tools.
The aim of this study is to analyze the EDS, EKUAL Keşif, and Piri Discovery Tool, in terms of the scope, ranking quality, and topical diversity index, and to compare the results within that framework. For this purpose, the iSearch test collection prepared from the articles in arXiv, and the search terms used in this collection, were run as queries in the evaluated discovery tools. The number of results returned to the queries was determined, and the extent to which these results matched articles in the iSearch collection was analyzed. The articles in the iSearch collection, which were randomly selected by experts and evaluated for relevance, were checked against the results returned from these queries, and the ordinal rank in which each result was placed was determined. The ranking quality was measured by calculating the DCG (Discounted Cumulative Gain) and the NDCG (Normalized Discounted Cumulative Gain) values of these rankings. In addition, the Shannon Diversity Index of the first 20 results returned to the queries was calculated, and compared in terms of topical diversity.
As a result of this research, it was revealed that, in the first 10,000 results, that EDS and EKUAL Keşif produced results of the same quantity and ranking order, while the Piri Discovery Tool provided access to more relevant articles than the two other discovery tools. In addition, it was determined that more relevant results were reached with higher rankings by the Piri Discovery Tool, but these results were ranked within a wider range. While the discovery tools showed similar performance in terms of ranking quality, it was determined that EDS and EKUAL Keşif provided more topical diversity than the Piri Discovery Tool.
The results of this research can be a reference point for university libraries which want to make the most of discovery tools, and to identify areas which might need improvement in these tools.

Significant increases in the costs of e-resources in recent years cause libraries to face uncertainties regarding budget management, and thus many low-budget libraries to terminate their subscriptions. For a cost-effective collection and budget management, uncertainty regarding user demands must be eliminated and predictions must be based on objective basics by utilizing rational methods. Time series analysis is one of the widely used methods in demand forecasting.
The aim of this study was to estimate e-resource usage in libraries through time series analysis. In this context, usage forecasting was conducted through ARIMA modeling on usage statistics of e-resources subscribed by the GNAT Library. However, the results obtained by the study indicated that applied model was not able to accurately estimate usage. In 2023 estimation for full-text download statistics on Political Science Complete database between 2019-2022, the result for January were more consistent. When the most successful results in 2023 estimation based on journal usage statistics of OECD iLibrary database between 2016-2022 were obtained in May and December, and for book usage statistics in December. In the quarterly estimations for journal usage statistics, the results for the first quarter of 2023 were found to be more consistent than the three other quarters, but none of the quarterly estimates for book usage were consistent. In 2021 estimation with book section usage data of OECD iLibrary database between 2016-2020, the most accurate estimate was achieved in October. In the quarterly analysis of book section usage, the most accurate result was belonged to the third quarter of 2021.
It is recommended that multivariate analyses be considered in future research. The application of univariate analyses without measuring the effects of different variables on e-resource use is seen as an important limitation. It is thought that usage estimates, by the same observation data, with other methods such as trend analysis might be more successful in estimating e-resource usage.

Institutional academic archive systems are systems created to store, organize, and protect
necessary information. Institutional academic archive systems contain records of various
types of publications and these records are archived through metadata. It is important to
ensure access to publications by presenting the metadata of resources in institutional
academic archives in an up-to-date, accurate, consistent and complete manner in
accordance with standards. Many factors, such as the failure to present metadata policies
for institutional academic archives in a standard structure and the failure to adapt
workflows to the organizational structure, cause problems affecting the quality of the
presentation of metadata of information resources. The main purpose of the study is to
reveal the current status of the metadata of information sources in the institutional
academic archives of research universities in Turkey in terms of completeness,
consistency and accuracy quality elements.
In the study, first of all, 656 information sources and 3.280 metadata belonging to the
sources in the institutional academic archives of 20 research universities in Turkey were
examined through content analysis. Then, data were collected and analyzed within the
framework of a semi-structured interview technique with authorized persons working in
the institutional academic archives of 18 research universities in Turkey, to identify the
problems experienced in metadata quality in the information source metadata definitions
in the institutional academic archives of research universities in Turkey.
In the research, inconsistent, accurate, and incomplete source metadata definitions were
detected in the institutional academic archive systems of research universities in Turkey.
According to this; Capitalization and punctuation errors in metadata fields, missing
metadata entries, item fields that have not been entered in the system, incorrect
information, spelling differences, and abbreviation problems have been identified. Study
findings show that most problems occur in the accuracy criterion in metadata fields.
Additionally, it has been revealed that the most fundamental problem in ensuring metadata quality in the institutional academic archive systems of research universities in
Turkey is the need for training. In the process of defining metadata in institutional
academic archives, deficiencies in the data management plan, workflow procedure, and
quality control business processes are noteworthy. Lack of budget, access, staff, and
technical support; Problems such as lack of standardization, copyright issues, problems
in mass transfer, software, and management support were also identified. In this context,
it will be beneficial to carry out joint work in business processes to ensure metadata
quality, to provide official training support for personnel, and to prepare official
documents containing metadata quality control. It is thought that the results of the study
will form the basis for research focused on institutional academic archive systems and
will contribute to the realization of qualified metadata definitions by addressing the
problems experienced in metadata definitions in the current situation.

With the effect of developing technology, there have been great changes in the fields of information production, use and management. In this context, like many institutions and organizations, research university library managers and employees have to keep up with these rapid changes. In this study, a research was conducted on 375 people (managers and employees) working in the libraries of 11 research universities and 5 candidate research universities in order to determine the effect of leadership styles of research university library administrators on organizational learning level in Turkey. The descriptive method was used in the research. Questionnaire application was used as data collection technique. According to the results of the research, the leadership styles of research university library managers in Turkey have an effect on the level of organizational learning. Managers who have a transformational leadership style in research university libraries have led to an increase in the level of organizational learning with their characteristics and effective decisions. However, as the level of passive/avoidant leadership behaviors of research university library managers increases, the level of organizational learning decreases. Although the participants stated that research university library managers in Turkey have a transformational leadership style, the organizational learning levels of research university libraries are "moderate". For this reason, when the data is examined in more detail, it is possible to say that managers should make more efforts in some necessary issues such as individual support, effective group management, increasing motivation, creating a common mission, creating innovative opportunities and providing satisfaction. In this study, the "Organizational Learning Application Model" was designed in order to eliminate the organizational and managerial deficiencies of the research university libraries in Turkey and to ensure their future success.
